“In the latter period of their rule,
When the transgressors have run their course,
A king will arise,

Insolent and skilled in intrigue.

While I was contemplating the horns, behold, another horn, a little one, came up among them, and three of the first horns were pulled out by the roots before it; and behold, this horn possessed eyes like the eyes of a man and a mouth uttering great boasts.

In his place a despicable person will arise, on whom the honor of kingship has not been conferred, but he will come in a time of tranquility and seize the kingdom by intrigue.

The pleasant

But he who comes against him will do as he pleases, and no one will be able to withstand him; he will also stay for a time in the

Beautiful Land, with destruction in his hand.

Beautiful in elevation, the joy of the whole earth,

Is Mount Zion in the far north,
The city of the great King.

And He caused His people to be very fruitful,
And made them stronger than their adversaries.

“Then I said,
‘How I would set you among My sons
And give you a pleasant land,
The most beautiful inheritance of the nations!’
And I said, ‘You shall call Me, My Father,
And not turn away from following Me.’

on that day I swore to them, to bring them out from the land of Egypt into a land that I had selected for them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands.

“but I

scattered them with a storm wind among all the nations whom they have not known. Thus the land is desolated behind them so that no one went back and forth, for they made the pleasant land desolate.”
