Treasury of Scripture Knowledge
That he may establish thee to day for a people unto himself, and that he may be unto thee a God, as he hath said unto thee, and as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.
He may be
For you are
a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for His own possession out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.
The Lord has today declared you to be
His people, a treasured possession, as He promised you, and that you should keep all His commandments;
The Lord will establish you as a holy people to Himself, as He swore to you, if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk in His ways.
He may be
I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your
descendants after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your descendants after you.
Sojourn in this land and
I will be with you and bless you, for to you and to your descendants I will give all these lands, and I will establish the oath which I swore to your father Abraham.
the Lord stood above it and said, “I am the Lord, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie, I will give it to you and to your descendants.
Then I will take you
for My people, and I will be your God; and you shall know that I am the Lord your God, who brought you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.
Behold, days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah,
They shall be
My people, and I will be their God;
But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a
heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God; for He has prepared a city for them.
The Lord did not make this covenant with our fathers, but with us, with all those of us alive here today.
