I filled him with the Spirit of God (my power). I gave him understanding, skill, and ability for every kind of artistic work.

I will come down and speak with you there. I will take some of the spirit I have given and give it to them. Then they can help you bear the responsibility for these people. You will not have to bear it alone.

Give me the wisdom I need to rule your people with justice. Help me know the difference between good and evil. Otherwise, how would I ever be able to rule this great people of yours?

Elijah said to Elisha: Tell me what you want me to do for you before I am taken from you. Elisha answered: Let me receive a double share of your spirit (power).

The Spirit of Jehovah will rest on him. The spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and strength, the spirit of knowledge and respect for Jehovah will be his.

Daniel was distinguished above the other commissioners and the governors because an excellent spirit (mind) was in him. Therefore the king thought to set him over the whole realm.

For he whom God has sent speaks the words of God. God does not give the spirit by measure.

In him is concealed all the hidden treasures of God's wisdom and knowledge.

Jehovah said to Moses: Take Joshua son of Nun, a capable man, and place your hands on his head.

whom they set before the apostles. After they prayed, they laid their hands on them.

So they laid their hands on them and they received the Holy Spirit.

Do not neglect the spiritual gift in you. It was given to you by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the elders.

Do not lay your hands hastily on any man, neither be a partaker of other men's sins: keep yourself pure.

They answered Joshua: All that you command us we will do. Wherever you send us we will go.
