Basic Stipulations

¹⁶ Honour thy father and thy mother, as Yahweh thy God hath commanded thee, - that thy days may be prolonged and that it may go well with thee, upon the soil which Yahweh thy God is about to give unto thee: ¹⁷ Thou shalt not commit murder: ¹⁸ Neither shalt thou commit adultery:

For, he that hath said - Do not commit adultery, hath also said - Do not commit murder, - now, if thou dost not commit adultery, but dost commit murder, thou hast become a transgressor of law.
