Curse not the king, no not in thy thought; and curse not the rich in thy bedchamber: for a bird of the air shall carry the voice, and that which hath wings shall tell the matter.
“You shall not
curse God, nor curse a ruler of your people.
They will pass through
the land hard-pressed and famished, and it will turn out that when they are hungry, they will be enraged and curse their king and their God as they face upward.
And Paul said, “I was not aware, brethren, that he was high priest; for it is written, ‘
You shall not speak evil of a ruler of your people.’”
Also, do not
take seriously all words which are spoken, so that you will not hear your servant cursing you.
But Jesus answered,
“I tell you, if these become silent, the stones will cry out!”
In thy bedchamber
Martha was distracted with all her preparations; and she came up to Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to do all the serving alone? Then tell her to help me.”
But there is nothing covered up that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known.
