Israel And Oppression In Egypt

¹³ And the Egyptians made the sons of Israel serve with harshness. ¹⁴ And they made their lives bitter with hard work in mortar and in bricks, and in all kinds of work in the field; all their work in which they made them do was with harshness. ¹⁵ And the king of Egypt spoke to the Hebrew midwives, of which the name of the one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah.
