The Tenth Plague: Death Of The Firstborn

1 And Jehovah said to Moses, I will still bring one plague yet on Pharaoh and on Egypt. Afterward he will let you go from here. When he shall let you go, he shall surely thrust you out from here altogether.

1 And the LORD said unto Moses, Yet will I bring one plague more upon Pharaoh, and upon Egypt; afterwards he will let you go hence: when he shall let you go, he shall surely thrust you out hence altogether.

1 Now the Lord said to Moses, “One more plague I will bring on Pharaoh and on Egypt; (A)after that he will let you go from here. When he lets you go, he will surely drive you out from here completely.

1 The Lord said(a) to Moses, “I will bring one more plague on Pharaoh and on Egypt. After that, he will let you go from here. When he lets you go,(b) he will drive you out of here.

1 Then the LORD told Moses, "I'll bring one more plague on Pharaoh and Egypt. After that he'll let you leave from here, and when he lets you go, he will certainly drive you out from here.

2 Speak now in the ears of the people, and let every man ask from his neighbor, and every woman from her neighbor, articles of silver and jewels of gold.

2 Speak now in the ears of the people, and let every man borrow of his neighbour, and every woman of her neighbour, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold.

2 Speak now in the (a)hearing of the people that (B)each man ask from his neighbor and each woman from her neighbor for articles of silver and articles of gold.”

2 Now announce to the people that both men and women should ask their neighbors for silver and gold jewelry.”

2 Tellthe people that each man is to ask his neighbor and each woman her neighbor for articles of silver and gold."

3 And Jehovah gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians. And the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh's servants, and in the sight of the people.

3 And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh's servants, and in the sight of the people.

3 (C)The Lord gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians. (D)Furthermore, the man Moses himself was (b)greatly esteemed in the land of Egypt, both in the sight of Pharaoh’s servants and in the sight of the people.

3 The Lord gave(c) the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians. And the man Moses was highly regarded(d) in the land of Egypt by(e) Pharaoh’s officials and the people.(A)

3 The LORD made the Egyptians look on the people with favor. Also the man Moses was highly regarded in the land of Egypt, both in the opinion of Pharaoh's officials and in the opinion of the people.

4 And Moses said, Thus says Jehovah: About midnight I will go out into the midst of Egypt.

4 And Moses said, Thus saith the LORD, About midnight will I go out into the midst of Egypt:

4 Moses said, “Thus says the Lord, ‘About (E)midnight I am going out into the midst of Egypt,

4 So Moses said, “This is what Yahweh says: ‘About midnight I will go throughout Egypt,

4 So Moses announced to Pharaoh, "This is what the LORD says: "About midnight I'm going throughout Egypt,

5 And all the first-born in the land of Egypt shall die, from the first-born of Pharaoh that sits upon his throne, even to the first-born of the slave-girl that is behind the mill; also the first-born of beasts.

5 And all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sitteth upon his throne, even unto the firstborn of the maidservant that is behind the mill; and all the firstborn of beasts.

5 and (F)all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of the Pharaoh who sits on his throne, even to the firstborn of the slave girl who is behind the millstones; all the firstborn of the cattle as well.

5 and every firstborn male in the land of Egypt will die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sits on his throne to the firstborn of the servant girl who is behind the millstones, as well as every firstborn of the livestock.

5 and all the firstborn in the land of Egypt will die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sits on his throne to the firstborn of the slave girl who operatesthe hand mill, along with the firstborn of the animals.

6 And there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as there was none like it, nor shall be like it any more.

6 And there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as there was none like it, nor shall be like it any more.

6 Moreover, there shall be (G)a great cry in all the land of Egypt, such as there has not been before and such as shall never be again.

6 Then there will be a great cry of anguish through all the land of Egypt such as never was before, or ever will be again.

6 There will be a great cry throughout the land of Egypt, like there has never been and never will be again.

7 But against any of the sons of Israel not even a dog shall move his tongue, against man or beast, so that you may know that Jehovah puts a difference between the Egyptians and Israel.

7 But against any of the children of Israel shall not a dog move his tongue, against man or beast: that ye may know how that the LORD doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel.

7 (H)But against any of the sons of Israel a dog will not even (c)bark, whether against man or beast, that you may (d)understand how the Lord makes a distinction between Egypt and Israel.’

7 But against all the Israelites, whether man or beast, not even a dog will snarl,(f) so that you may know that Yahweh makes a distinction between Egypt and Israel.

7 But among the Israelis, from people to animals, not even a dog will bark, so you may know that the LORD is distinguishing between the Egyptians and the Israelis.'

8 And all these, your servants, shall come down to me and bow themselves down to me, saying, You and all the people that follow you get out. And after that I will go out. And he went out from Pharaoh in a great anger.

8 And all these thy servants shall come down unto me, and bow down themselves unto me, saying, Get thee out, and all the people that follow thee: and after that I will go out. And he went out from Pharaoh in a great anger.

8 (I)All these your servants will come down to me and bow themselves (e)before me, saying, ‘Go out, you and all the people who (f)follow you,’ and after that I will go out.” (J)And he went out from Pharaoh in hot anger.

8 All these officials of yours will come down to me and bow before me, saying: Leave, you and all the people who follow you.(g) After that, I will leave.’” And he left Pharaoh’s presence in fierce anger.(B)

8 All these officials of yours will come down to me, prostrate themselves to me, and say, "Get out, you and all the people following you!' After that I'll go out." Then Moses angrily left Pharaoh.

9 And Jehovah said to Moses, Pharaoh shall not listen to you, so that My wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.

9 And the LORD said unto Moses, Pharaoh shall not hearken unto you; that my wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.

9 Then the Lord said to Moses, “(K)Pharaoh will not listen to you, so (L)that My wonders will be multiplied in the land of Egypt.”

9 The Lord said to Moses, “Pharaoh will not listen(C) to you, so that My wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.”

9 The LORD told Moses, "Pharaoh won't listen to you. As a result, my wonders will increase throughout the land of Egypt."

10 And Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh. And Jehovah hardened Pharaoh's heart so that he would not let the sons of Israel go out of his land.

10 And Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh: and the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, so that he would not let the children of Israel go out of his land.

10 (M)Moses and Aaron performed all these wonders before Pharaoh; yet (N)the Lord (g)hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he did not let the sons of Israel go out of his land.

10 Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh, but the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart,(D) and he would not let the Israelites go out of his land.

10 Moses and Aaron did all these wonders in front of Pharaoh, but the LORD made Pharaoh's heart stubborn, and he would not let the Israelis go out from his land.
