Then Aaron the priest went up to Mount Hor at the command of the Lord, and died there in the fortieth year after the sons of Israel had come from the land of Egypt, on the first day in the fifth month.

You shall remember all the way which the Lord your God has led you in the wilderness these forty years, that He might humble you, testing you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not.

“You provided bread from heaven for them for their hunger,
You brought forth water from a rock for them for their thirst,
And You told them to enter in order to possess
The land which You swore to give them.

He rained down manna upon them to eat
And gave them

food from heaven.

So they said to Him, “What then do You do for a sign, so that we may see, and believe You? What work do You perform?

Until they came unto

The manna ceased on the day after they had eaten some of the produce of the land, so that the sons of Israel no longer had manna, but they ate some of the yield of the land of Canaan during that year.

The borders

They journeyed from the mountains of Abarim and camped in the plains of Moab by the Jordan opposite Jericho.

See, I have placed the land before you; go in and possess the land which the Lord

swore to give to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to them and their descendants after them.’

Now Moses went up from the plains of Moab to Mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, which is opposite Jericho. And the Lord

showed him all the land, Gilead as far as Dan,
