Laws About Slaves

¹ And these are the judgments which you shall set before them. ² If you buy a Hebrew servant, he shall serve six years. And in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing. ³ If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself. If he was married, then his wife shall go out with him.

Seventh Year

Deuteronomy 15:12-15

If your brother, a Hebrew man or a Hebrew woman, is sold to you and serves you six years, then in the seventh year you shall let him go free from you.

Deuteronomy 15:18

It shall not seem hard to you when you send him away from you free, for he has been worth a double hired servant in serving you six years. And Jehovah your God shall bless you in all that you do.

Genesis 27:28

And may God give you of the dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of grain and wine.
