Making Garments For Priests

1 And of the blue, and purple, and scarlet, they made cloths of service, to do service in the holy place, and made the holy garments for Aaron; as the LORD commanded Moses.

1 Moreover, from the (a)(A)blue and purple and scarlet material, they made finely (B)woven garments for ministering in the holy place (b)as well as the holy garments which were for Aaron, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.

1 They made specially woven(a) garments for ministry in the sanctuary, and the holy garments for Aaron from the blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.(A)

Making The Ephod

2 And he made the ephod of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen.

2 (C)He made the ephod of gold, and of (c)blue and purple and scarlet material, and fine twisted linen.

2 Bezalel(B) made the ephod of gold, of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and of finely spun linen.

2 He made the ephod out of gold, blue, purple, and scarlet material and fine woven linen.

2 Bezalel made the ephod of gold, and of blue, purple, and scarlet fabric, and fine twisted linen.

3 And they did beat the gold into thin plates, and cut it into wires, to work it in the blue, and in the purple, and in the scarlet, and in the fine linen, with cunning work.

3 Then they hammered out gold sheets and cut them into threads (d)to be woven in with the (e)blue and the purple and the scarlet material, and the fine linen, the work of a skillful workman.

3 They hammered out thin sheets of gold, and he(b) cut threads from them to interweave with the blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and the fine linen in a skillful design.

3 They hammered out gold sheets and cut off threads to work into the blue, purple, and scarlet material and into the fine linen, a work of skillful design.

3 Then Bezalel and Oholiab hammered the gold [into thin sheets] and cut it into threads to work into the blue, purple, and scarlet fabric, and into the fine linen, the work of a skilled craftsman.

4 They made shoulderpieces for it, to couple it together: by the two edges was it coupled together.

4 They made attaching shoulder pieces for (f)the ephod; it was attached at its two upper ends.

4 They made shoulder pieces for attaching it; it was joined together at its two edges.

4 They made connecting shoulder pieces for the ephod and attached them to its two edges.

5 And the curious girdle of his ephod, that was upon it, was of the same, according to the work thereof; of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen; as the LORD commanded Moses.

5 The skillfully woven band which was on it was like its workmanship, (g)of the same material: of gold and of (h)blue and purple and scarlet material, and fine twisted linen, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.

5 The artistically woven waistband that was on the ephod was of one piece with the ephod, according to the same workmanship of gold, of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and of finely spun linen, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.

5 The skillfully woven band that was on it was made like it, of one piece with it: of gold, blue, purple, and scarlet material and fine woven linen, just as the LORD commanded Moses.

5 The skillfully woven sash with which to bind it, which was on the ephod [to hold it in place], was like its workmanship, of the same material: of gold and of blue, purple, and scarlet fabric, and fine twisted linen, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.

6 And they wrought onyx stones inclosed in ouches of gold, graven, as signets are graven, with the names of the children of Israel.

6 (D)They made the onyx stones, set in gold filigree settings; they were engraved like the engravings of a signet, according to the names of the sons of Israel.

6 Then they mounted the onyx stones surrounded with gold filigree settings, engraved with the names of Israel’s sons as a gem cutter engraves a seal.

6 They prepared the onyx stones, engraved with the names of the sons of Israel like the engraving on a signet, and mounted them in settings of gold filigree.

6 They made the onyx stones, set in settings of gold filigree; they were engraved as signets are engraved, with the names of [the twelve tribes of] the sons of Israel.

7 And he put them on the shoulders of the ephod, that they should be stones for a memorial to the children of Israel; as the LORD commanded Moses.

7 And (E)he placed them on the shoulder pieces of the ephod, as memorial stones for the sons of Israel, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.

7 He fastened them on the shoulder pieces of the ephod as memorial stones for the Israelites, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.

7 He put them on the shoulder pieces of the ephod as stones of remembrance for the sons of Israel, just as the LORD commanded Moses.

7 And he put them on the shoulder pieces of the ephod to be memorial stones (a remembrance) for the sons of Israel (Jacob), just as the Lord had commanded Moses.

Making The Breastpiece

8 And he made the breastplate of cunning work, like the work of the ephod; of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen.

8 (F)He made the breastpiece, the work of a skillful workman, like the workmanship of the ephod: of gold and of (i)blue and purple and scarlet material and fine twisted linen.

8 He(C) also made the embroidered breastpiece with the same workmanship as the ephod of gold, of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and of finely spun linen.

8 He made a breast piece, skillfully worked, like the work of the ephod: of gold, blue, purple, and scarlet material and fine woven linen.

8 Bezalel made the breastpiece, the work of a skillful craftsman, like the workmanship of the ephod: of gold and of blue, purple, and scarlet fabric, and fine twisted linen.

9 It was foursquare; they made the breastplate double: a span was the length thereof, and a span the breadth thereof, being doubled.

9 It was square; they made the breastpiece folded double, a span (j)long and a span (k)wide when folded double.

9 They made the breastpiece square and folded double, nine inches long and nine inches wide.(c)

10 And they set in it four rows of stones: the first row was a sardius, a topaz, and a carbuncle: this was the first row.

13 And the fourth row, a beryl, an onyx, and a jasper: they were inclosed in ouches of gold in their inclosings.

16 And they made two ouches of gold, and two gold rings; and put the two rings in the two ends of the breastplate.

16 They also fashioned two gold filigree settings and two gold rings and attached the two rings to its two corners.

16 They made two settings of gold filigree and two gold rings, and they put the two rings on the two edges of the breast piece.

17 And they put the two wreathen chains of gold in the two rings on the ends of the breastplate.

17 Then they put the two gold cords in the two rings at the ends of the breastpiece.

17 Then they attached the two gold cords to the two gold rings on the corners of the breastpiece.

17 They put the two gold cords on the two gold rings at the edges of the breast piece,

17 Then they put the two twisted cords of gold in the two rings on the ends of the breastpiece.

18 And the two ends of the two wreathen chains they fastened in the two ouches, and put them on the shoulderpieces of the ephod, before it.

18 They put the other two ends of the two cords on the two filigree settings, and put them on the shoulder pieces of the ephod at the front of it.

18 They attached the other ends of the two cords to the two filigree settings and, in this way, attached them to the ephod’s shoulder pieces in front.

18 and they attached the other two ends of the two cords to the filigree settings, and then attached them to the shoulder pieces of the ephod in front.

18 They put the [other] two ends of the two cords on the two filigree settings, and put them on the shoulder pieces of the ephod at the front of it.

19 And they made two rings of gold, and put them on the two ends of the breastplate, upon the border of it, which was on the side of the ephod inward.

19 They made two gold rings and placed them on the two ends of the breastpiece, on its inner edge which was next to the ephod.

19 They made two other gold rings and put them at the two other corners of the breastpiece on the edge that is next to the inner border of the ephod.

19 They made two gold rings and attached them to the two edges of the breast piece, on the side of it which is toward the inner side of the ephod.

19 They made two rings of gold and put them on the two ends of the breastpiece, on its inner edge which was next to the ephod.

20 And they made two other golden rings, and put them on the two sides of the ephod underneath, toward the forepart of it, over against the other coupling thereof, above the curious girdle of the ephod.

20 Furthermore, they made two gold rings and placed them on the bottom of the two shoulder pieces of the ephod, on the front of it, close to the place where it joined, above the woven band of the ephod.

20 They made two more gold rings and attached them to the bottom of the ephod’s two shoulder pieces on its front, close to its seam,(j) above the ephod’s woven waistband.

20 They made two gold rings and attached them in front, on the lower part of the two shoulder pieces of the ephod, close to the place where it's joined, above the skillfully woven band of the ephod.

20 Furthermore, they made two [other] gold rings and attached them to the bottom of the two shoulder pieces of the ephod, at the front of it, close to the place where it is joined, above the woven sash of the ephod.

21 And they did bind the breastplate by his rings unto the rings of the ephod with a lace of blue, that it might be above the curious girdle of the ephod, and that the breastplate might not be loosed from the ephod; as the LORD commanded Moses.

21 They bound the breastpiece by its rings to the rings of the ephod with a (n)blue cord, so that it would be on the woven band of the ephod, and that the breastpiece would not come loose from the ephod, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.

21 Then they tied the breastpiece from its rings to the rings of the ephod with a cord of blue yarn, so that the breastpiece was above the ephod’s waistband and did not come loose from the ephod. They did just as the Lord had commanded Moses.

21 They tied the breast piece by its rings to the rings of the ephod with a blue cord so it would rest on the skillfully woven band of the ephod and so the breast piece would not come loose from the ephod.

21 They bound the breastpiece by its rings to the rings of the ephod with a blue cord, so that it would lie on the woven sash of the ephod, and so that the breastpiece would not come loose from the ephod, just as the Lord commanded Moses.

Making The Robe

22 And he made the robe of the ephod of woven work, all of blue.

22 (G)Then he made the robe of the ephod of woven work, all of (o)blue;

22 They(D) made the woven robe of the ephod entirely of blue yarn.

22 Then Bezalel made the robe of the ephod of woven work, all of blue;

23 And there was an hole in the midst of the robe, as the hole of an habergeon, with a band round about the hole, that it should not rend.

24 On the hem of the robe, they placed pomegranates made of blue, purple, and scarlet material and woven linen.

25 And they made bells of pure gold, and put the bells between the pomegranates upon the hem of the robe, round about between the pomegranates;

26 There was a bell and a pomegranate, then a bell and a pomegranate, all around the hem of the robe for when the High Priest ministered, just as the LORD commanded Moses.

26 a bell and a pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate, all [the way] around the hem of the robe, for service and ministering, just as the Lord commanded Moses.

The Other Priestly Garments

27 And they made coats of fine linen of woven work for Aaron, and for his sons,

27 (I)They made the tunics of finely woven linen for Aaron and his sons,

27 They made tunics for Aaron and his sons, woven from fine linen,

28 They also made the turban and the ornate headbands(n) of fine linen, the undergarments,(E)

28 the turban of fine linen, decorated head coverings of fine linen, linen undergarments of fine woven linen,

28 and the turban of fine linen, and the ornamental caps of fine linen, and the linen undergarments of fine twisted linen,

29 And a girdle of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, of needlework; as the LORD commanded Moses.

29 and the sash of fine twisted linen, and (t)blue and purple and scarlet material, the work of the (u)weaver, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.

29 and the sash of finely spun linen of embroidered blue, purple, and scarlet yarn. They did just as the Lord had commanded Moses.

29 and the sash of fine woven linen, woven of blue, purple, and scarlet material, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.

29 and the sash of fine twisted linen, and blue, purple, and scarlet fabric, the work of an embroiderer, just as the Lord commanded Moses.

Making The Holy Diadem

30 And they made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold, and wrote upon it a writing, like to the engravings of a signet, HOLINESS TO THE LORD.

30 (J)They made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold, and (v)inscribed it like the engravings of a signet, “Holy to the Lord.”

30 They also made a medallion, the holy diadem, out of pure gold and wrote on it an inscription like the engraving on a seal:(F)HOLY TO THE LORD.

30 They made the medallion for the holy crown of pure gold, and they wrote on it an inscription like the engraving on a seal: "Holy to the LORD."

30 They made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold, and wrote on it an inscription, like the engravings of a signet, “Holy to the Lord.”(A)

31 And they tied unto it a lace of blue, to fasten it on high upon the mitre; as the LORD commanded Moses.

31 They (w)fastened a (x)blue cord to it, to (y)fasten it on the turban above, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.

31 Then they attached a cord of blue yarn to it in order to mount it on the turban, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.

Preparations Complete

32 Thus was all the work of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation finished: and the children of Israel did according to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so did they.

32 Thus all the work of the (z)tabernacle of the tent of meeting was completed; and the sons of Israel did according to all that the Lord had commanded Moses; so they did.

32 So all the work for the tabernacle, the tent of meeting, was finished. The Israelites did everything just as the Lord had commanded Moses.(G)

32 All the work on the Tent of Meeting was completed, and the Israelis had crafted it according to everything that the LORD had commanded Moses, as they should have.

32 Thus all the work of the tabernacle of the Tent of Meeting was finished; and the Israelites did according to all that the Lord had commanded Moses; that is what they did.

33 And they brought the tabernacle unto Moses, the tent, and all his furniture, his taches, his boards, his bars, and his pillars, and his sockets,

33 They brought the tabernacle to Moses, the tent and all its (aa)furnishings: its clasps, its boards, its bars, and its pillars and its (ab)sockets;

33 Then they brought the tabernacle to Moses: the tent with all its furnishings, its clasps, its planks, its crossbars, and its posts and bases;

33 They brought to Moses the tent, all its furnishings, its clasps, its boards, its bars, its pillars, its sockets,

33 They brought the tabernacle to Moses [for him to inspect]: the tent and all its furnishings, its hooks, its [frame] boards, its bars, its support poles, its sockets or bases;

34 And the covering of rams' skins dyed red, and the covering of badgers' skins, and the vail of the covering,

34 and the covering of rams’ skins (ac)dyed red, and the covering of porpoise skins, and the screening veil;

34 the covering of ram skins dyed red and the covering of manatee skins;(o) the veil for the screen;

34 the covering of ram skins dyed red, the covering of dolphin skins, the curtain,

34 and the covering of rams’ skins dyed red, and the covering of (a)porpoise skins, and the veil (partition) of the screen (curtain);

35 The ark of the testimony, and the staves thereof, and the mercy seat,

35 the ark of the testimony and its poles and the (ad)mercy seat;

38 And the golden altar, and the anointing oil, and the sweet incense, and the hanging for the tabernacle door,

38 the gold altar; the anointing oil; the fragrant incense; the screen for the entrance to the tent;

38 the altar of gold, anointing oil, aromatic incense, the screen for the doorway to the tent,

38 the golden altar [of incense], the anointing oil and the fragrant incense, and the [hanging] veil for the doorway of the tent;

39 The brasen altar, and his grate of brass, his staves, and all his vessels, the laver and his foot,

39 the (ag)bronze altar and its (ah)bronze grating, its poles and all its utensils, the laver and its stand;

39 the bronze altar with its bronze grate, its poles, and all its utensils; the basin with its stand;

39 the bronze altar and the bronze lattice for it, its poles, all its furnishings, the basin and its base,

39 the bronze altar [of burnt offering] and its grating of bronze, its poles and all its utensils, the basin and its base;

40 The hangings of the court, his pillars, and his sockets, and the hanging for the court gate, his cords, and his pins, and all the vessels of the service of the tabernacle, for the tent of the congregation,

40 the hangings for the court, its pillars and its (ai)sockets, and the screen for the gate of the court, its cords and its pegs and all the (aj)equipment for the service of the tabernacle, for the tent of meeting;

40 the hangings of the courtyard, its posts and bases, the screen for the gate of the courtyard, its ropes and tent pegs, and all the equipment for the service of the tabernacle, the tent of meeting;

40 the hangings for the court, its pillars, its sockets, the screen for the gate of the court, its cords, its pegs, all the furnishings for the service of the tent, for the Tent of Meeting,

40 the curtains of the courtyard, its support poles and sockets, and the screen (curtain) for the courtyard gate, its cords and pegs, and all the utensils for the service of the tabernacle, for the Tent of Meeting [of God with His people];(B)

41 The cloths of service to do service in the holy place, and the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and his sons' garments, to minister in the priest's office.

41 the woven garments for ministering in the holy place and the holy garments for Aaron the priest and the garments of his sons, to minister as priests.

41 and the specially woven(p) garments for ministering in the sanctuary, the holy garments for Aaron the priest and the garments for his sons to serve as priests.

43 And Moses did look upon all the work, and, behold, they had done it as the LORD had commanded, even so had they done it: and Moses blessed them.

43 Moses inspected all the work they had accomplished. They had done just as the Lord commanded. Then Moses blessed them.(I)

43 Moses blessed them when he saw all the work and that they had completed it. They had done it just as the LORD had commanded.

43 And Moses [carefully] inspected all the work, and behold, they had done it; just as the Lord had commanded, so had they done it. So Moses blessed them.
