But when Pharaoh saw that there was relief, he
hardened his heart and did not listen to them, as the Lord had said.
The Lord said to Moses, “When you go
back to Egypt see that you perform before Pharaoh all the wonders which I have put in your power; but I will harden his heart so that he will not let the people go.
Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he did not listen to them, as the Lord had said.
Why, O Lord, do You cause us to stray from Your ways
harden our heart from fearing You? Return for the sake of Your servants, the tribes of Your heritage.
Go to this people and say,
You will keep on hearing, but will not understand;
you will keep on seeing, but will not perceive;
because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God,
Let no one say when he is tempted, “
I am being tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone.
