My servant David will be their king. All of them will have one shepherd. They will live by my rules, and they will obey my laws.

This is the covenant (agreement) that I will make with Israel after those days, declares Jehovah. I will put my teachings (Law) inside them. I will write those teachings (Law) on their hearts (inner man) (mind) (will) (conscience) (understanding). I will be their God, and they will be my people.

I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

You have accepted Christ Jesus as Lord. Now walk (live) in union with him.

My beloved, you have always obeyed, not just in my presence, but now much more in my absence. Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

For the grace (divine influence) of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all men,

make you perfect (mature) in every good thing. May you do his will, working in us that which is well-pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be the glory for ever and ever. Amen.

If we say we have fellowship with him and walk in the darkness, we lie, and do not live (practice) the truth.

This is love that we walk according to his commandments. This is the commandment that you heard from the beginning. You should walk in it.

The priest will put some of the oil that is still in his hand on the right ear lobe, on the right thumb, and on the big toe of the right foot of the one to be cleansed. These are the same places he had put the blood of the guilt offering.

You shall again obey Jehovah, and observe all his commandments that I command you today.

Redeem me from the oppression of man, that I may keep your precepts.

The Spirit entered me when he spoke to me. He stood me on my feet, and I heard him speaking to me.

May we serve in holiness and righteousness before him all our days.
