And it came to pass, while they were slaying them, and I was left, that I fell upon my face, and cried, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou destroy all the residue of Israel in thy pouring out of thy fury upon Jerusalem?
Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces in the presence of all the assembly of the congregation of the sons of Israel.
When Moses heard this,
he fell on his face;
I fell down before the Lord, as at the first, forty days and nights; I neither ate bread nor drank water, because of all your sin which you had committed in doing what was evil in the sight of the Lord to provoke Him to anger.
tore his clothes and fell to the earth on his face before the ark of the Lord until the evening, both he and the elders of Israel; and they put dust on their heads.
1 Chronicles 21:16
Then David lifted up his eyes and saw the angel of the Lord standing between earth and heaven, with his drawn sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders,
covered with sackcloth, fell on their faces.
But at the evening offering I arose from my
humiliation, even with my garment and my robe torn, and I fell on my knees and stretched out my hands to the Lord my God;
