But Sarai was barren; she had no child.

And Abram answered, "LORD Jehovah, what wilt thou give me? I go childless, and the cater of mine house, this Eliezer of Damascus, hath a son."

Sarai, Abram's wife, bare him no children. But she had a handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar.

Abraham and Sara were both old and well stricken in age, and it ceased to be with Sara after the manner as it is with wives.

The LORD visited Sara as he had said, and did unto her according as he had spoken.

And Isaac made intercession unto the LORD for his wife, because she was barren: and the LORD was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.

When the LORD saw that Lea was despised, he made her fruitful: but Rachel was barren.

When Rachel saw that she bare Jacob no children, she envied her sister and said unto Jacob, "Give me children, or else I am but dead."

And there was a man in Zorah of the kindred of the Danites, named Manoah, whose wife was barren and bare not.

which had two wives, the one called Hannah and the other Peninnah. And Peninnah had children, but Hannah had none.

Which maketh the barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother of children. Praise the everlasting! Hallelujah!

And they had no child, because that Elizabeth was barren; And both were well stricken in age.
