So Joseph died at the age of one hundred and ten years; and
he was embalmed and placed in a coffin in Egypt.
2 Chronicles 16:14
They buried him in his own tomb which he had cut out for himself in the city of David, and they laid him in the resting place which he had filled
with spices of various kinds blended by the perfumers’ art; and they made a very great fire for him.
For when she poured this perfume on My body, she did it to prepare Me for burial.
She has done what she could; she has anointed My body beforehand for the burial.
When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, bought spices, so that they might come and anoint Him.
But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared.
Therefore Jesus said,
“Let her alone, so that she may keep it for the day of My burial.
Nicodemus, who had first come to Him by night, also came, bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pounds weight.
