Treasury of Scripture Knowledge
For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
All the nations shall serve him and his son and his grandson until the time of his own land comes; then many nations and great kings will make him their servant.
He said, “Behold, I am going to
let you know what will occur at the final period of the indignation, for it pertains to the appointed time of the end.
weeks have been decreed for your people and your holy city, to finish the transgression, to make an end of sin, to make atonement for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy place.
In the third year of
Cyrus king of Persia a message was revealed to Daniel, who was named Belteshazzar; and the message was true and one of great conflict, but he understood the message and had an understanding of the vision.
As for both kings, their hearts will be intent on
evil, and they will speak lies to each other at the same table; but it will not succeed, for the end is still to come at the appointed time.
He said to them,
“It is not for you to know times or epochs which the Father has fixed by His own authority;
He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation,
but he is under guardians and
managers until the date set by the father.
2 Thessalonians 2:6
And you know
what restrains him now, so that in his time he will be revealed.
And at the end of four hundred and thirty years,
to the very day, all the hosts of the Lord went out from the land of Egypt.
You will arise and have compassion on Zion;
it is time to be gracious to her,
appointed time has come.
‘Then it will be
when seventy years are completed I will punish the king of Babylon and that nation,’ declares the Lord, ‘for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans; and I will make it an everlasting desolation.
For you have need of
endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised.
It will surely
now, will not God bring about justice for His elect who cry to Him day and night, and will He delay long over them?
2 Peter 2:3
and in their
greed they will exploit you with false words; their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.
“Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, ‘
Write all the words which I have spoken to you in a book.
wrote in a single scroll all the calamity which would come upon Babylon, that is, all these words which have been written concerning Babylon.
having patiently waited, he obtained the promise.
For yet in a very little while, He who is coming will come, and will not delay.
