The vision

All the nations will serve him, his son, and his grandson until his country's time also comes, and then many nations and great kings will use him as a slave.

Then he said,

Seventy weeks have been decreed concerning your people and your holy city: to restrain transgression, to put an end to sin, to make atonement for lawlessness, to establish everlasting righteousness, to conclude vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy Place.

In the third year of Cyrus, king of Persia, a message was revealed to Daniel (also known as Belteshazzar). The message was trustworthy and concerned a great conflict. He understood it and had insight concerning the vision.

Now as for the two kings, their intentions will be evil, and they'll promote deception at their dinner table, but none of this will succeed, because the end won't have come yet.

He answered them, "It isn't for you to know what times or periods the Father has fixed by his own authority.

From one man he made every nation of humanity to live all over the earth, fixing the seasons of the year and the national boundaries within which they live,

Instead, he is placed under the care of guardians and servant managers until the time set by the father.

You know what it is that is now holding him back, so that he will be revealed when his time comes.

But

At the end of 430 years, to the very day, all the tribal divisions of the LORD went out from the land of Egypt.

You will arise to extend compassion on Zion, for it is time to show her favor the appointed time has come.

"Then when the seventy years have passed, I'll judge the king of Babylon and that nation, declares the LORD, I'll judge the land of the Chaldeans for their iniquity and I'll make it a desolation forever.

For you need endurance, so that after you have done God's will you can receive what he has promised.

Won't God grant his chosen people justice when they cry out to him day and night? Is he slow to help them?

In their greed they will exploit you with deceptive words. The ancient verdict against them is still in force, and their destruction is not delayed.
