Treasury of Scripture Knowledge

For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

You have come to mount Sion, the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to myriads of angels in festal gathering,

(for we have no lasting city here below, we seek the City to come).

In my Father's house there are many abodes; were it not so, would I have told you that I was going to prepare a place for you?

But we are a colony of heaven, and we wait for the Saviour who comes from heaven, the Lord Jesus Christ,

(Every house is founded by someone, but God is the founder of all.)

I know that if this earthly tent of mine is taken down, I get a home from God, made by no human hands, eternal in the heavens.

(for we have no lasting city here below, we seek the City to come).
