These all died in faith without receiving the things promised, but they saw them in the distance and welcomed them and acknowledged that they were strangers and foreigners on the earth.

So Abraham stayed in the land of the Philistines for quite some time.

"Be careful never to take my son back there!" Abraham told him.

You must live in temporary shelters for seven days; every native citizen in Israel must live in temporary shelters,

But Hobab said to him, "I will not go, but I will go instead to my own land and to my kindred."
