The reproach

You were at times publicly insulted and mistreated. Other times you were ready to join those who were being treated in this way.

Let us therefore go forth to him outside the camp, bearing his reproach.

Because for your sake, I have borne reproach. Shame has covered my face.

Jehovah, remember the reproach of your servant. Remember how I have carried in my heart the insults from so many people.

Hear me, you who know what is right, you people who have my law in your hearts. Do not fear the reproach of men or be terrified by their insults.

They left the council and rejoiced that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.

Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then I am strong.

searching what time or what manner of time the spirit of Christ that was in them did point to, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glories that should follow them.

If you are reproached for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you.

Better is the little of the righteous than the abundance of many wicked.

This is what Jehovah says: Do not let wise people brag about their wisdom. Do not let strong people brag about their strength. Do not let rich people brag about their riches.

Also as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

Have the eyes of your heart enlightened, that you may know the hope of his calling, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the holy ones,

To me, the very least of all the holy ones, was given grace (loving divine influence) to preach to the people of the nations the untraceable riches of Christ.

I know your troubles. I know that you are poor, but you are rich! I know the evil things said against you by those who claim to be Jews but are not. Their synagogue belongs to Satan!

I counsel you to buy gold from me, gold purified by fire, so that you may be rich; and white clothing, so that you may be clothed. In this way the shame of your nakedness will not appear. And anoint your eyes with eye salve, so that you may see.

Without faith it is impossible to please God. He who comes to God must believe that he is and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

If the word spoken through angels was steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward (penalty).

Do not lose your courage (confidence) (boldness). It brings a great reward with it.

May Jehovah reward you for what you have done. May you have a full reward from Jehovah the God of Israel, to whom you have come for protection!

The wicked works a deceitful work. There is a sure reward for the one who sows righteousness.

Surely there is a future hope and you will not be disappointed.

Rejoice, and be filled with joy, for great is your reward in heaven. The prophets, who came before you, were also persecuted.

Be careful! Do not display your righteousness (good works) before men to be noticed by them. If you do, you will have no reward with your heavenly Father.

Anyone who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet's reward. Anyone who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man will receive a righteous man's reward.

You will be blessed because they are not able to pay you back. God will repay you on the day the good people rise from death.
