For you had compassion on the prisoners, and you joyfully accepted the plundering of your property, since you knew that you yourselves had a better possession and an abiding one.

And they seized them and put them in jail until the next day, for it was already evening.

They arrested the apostles and put them in the public jail.

But Saul began ravaging the church, and, entering house after house, he dragged off men and women and put them in prison.

When he had seized him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four squads of soldiers to guard him, intending after the Passover to bring him out to the people.

Having received such a charge, he put them into the inner prison and fastened their feet in the stocks.

Then the commander came up and arrested him, and ordered him to be bound with two chains. He inquired who he was and what he had done.

But when two years had passed, Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus, and desiring to do the Jews a favor, Felix left Paul in prison.

Are they servants of Christ? I am a better oneI am talking like a madmanin far more labors, in far more imprisonments, with more beatings, and often in danger of death.

For this reason I, Paul, am the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles

I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of the calling to which you have been called,

May the Lord grant mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, for he often refreshed me and was not ashamed of my chains;

for which I am suffering even to the point of wearing chains like a criminal. But the word of God is not chained.

Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and for ten days you will have tribulation. Be faithful even until death, and I will give you the crown of life.
