Hebrews 3:11

A Serious Warning Against Unbelief

¹⁰ [for] forty years. Therefore I was angry with this generation, and I said, 'They always go astray in their heart, and they do not know my ways.' ¹¹ As I swore in my anger, '{They will never enter} into my rest.'" ¹² Watch out, brothers, lest there be in some of you an evil, unbelieving heart, [with the result that you] fall away from the living God.

Enter My Rest

Made a Vow

Hebrews 4:3

For we who have believed enter into rest, just as he has said, "As I swore in my anger, '{They will never enter} into my rest.'" And yet these works have been accomplished from the foundation of the world.

Hebrews 4:5

and in this [passage] again, '{They will never enter} into my rest.'"

Numbers 14:20-23

Yahweh said, "I have forgiven [them] according to your word;

Numbers 14:27-30

"How long [will I bear] this evil community who are grumbling against me? I have heard the grumbling of the {Israelites} which {they are making} against me.

Numbers 14:35

I, Yahweh, have spoken; I will surely do this to all this evil community who has banded together against me. In this desert they will come to an end, and there they will die."

Numbers 32:10-13

So {Yahweh's anger burned} on that day, and he swore an oath, saying,

"Then Yahweh heard the sound of your words, and he was angry, and he swore, {saying},

Now the {length of time} that we had traveled from Kadesh Barnea until [the time when] we crossed the wadi of Zered [was] thirty-eight years, until the perishing of all of that generation; [that is], the men of war from the midst of the camp as Yahweh had sworn to them.

Hebrews 3:18-19

And to whom did he swear [they would] not enter into his rest, except those who were disobedient?

Hebrews 4:9

Consequently a sabbath rest remains for the people of God.

Numbers 14:25

And the Amalekites and the Canaanites live in the valleys; tomorrow turn and set out [for] the desert [by] way of the {Red Sea}."

Therefore I swore in my anger, 'They shall surely not enter into my rest.'"
