In the whole land, declares the LORD, two thirds shall be cut off and perish, and one third shall be left alive.

For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.

And Isaiah cries out concerning Israel: "Though the number of the sons of Israel be as the sand of the sea, only a remnant of them will be saved,

But what is God's reply to him? "I have kept for myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal."

And the LORD said, "If I find at Sodom fifty righteous in the city, I will spare the whole place for their sake."

Then the LORD rained on Sodom and Gomorrah sulfur and fire from the LORD out of heaven.
