His wisdom maketh all men fools. And confounded be all casters of images, for that they cast is but a vain thing, and hath no life.

They are altogether unlearned and unwise. All their cunning is but vanity:

For though I am the least of all, and have no man's understanding

And therefore let them convert, and be ashamed earnestly, that hope in Idols and say to fashioned images, "Ye are our gods."

By the reason of wisdom, all men are become fools. Confounded be all the casters of images: for the thing that they make is but deceit, and hath no breath.

The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that would understand and seek after God.

An unwise man will not know this, and a fool will not understand it -

Take heed, ye unwise among the people: O ye fools, when will ye understand?

Confounded be all they that worship images, and delight in their idols; worship him all ye gods.

Their images are but silver and gold, even the work of men's hands.

They have mouths, and speak not; eyes have they, but they see not.

Behold, all the fellowship of them must be brought to confusion. Let all the workmasters of them come and stand together from among men: they must be abashed and confounded one with another.

Yet men neither consider nor understand; because their eyes are stopped that they cannot see, and their hearts, that they can not perceive.

Confounded be ye, and put to dishonour: go hence together with shame, all ye that be workmasters of error: that is, worshipers of Idols.

Yet must he be taken on men's shoulders and borne, and set in his place, that he may stand and not move. Alas that men should cry unto him, which giveth no answer; and delivereth not the man that calleth upon him, from his trouble.

What help then will the Image do, whom the workman hath fashioned? Or the vain cast Image, wherein because the craftsmen putteth his trust, therefore maketh he dumb Idols?

When they counted themselves wise, they became fools
