Jeremiah Is Arrested And Put In Prison

¹⁴ Then said Jeremiah It is false; I do not fall away to the Chaldeans. But he did not hearken to him: so Irijah took Jeremiah, and brought him to the princes. ¹⁵ Then the officials were angry at Jeremiah and beat him, and they put him in jail in the house of Jonathan the scribe, which they had made into the prison. ¹⁶ When Jeremiah was entered into the dungeon and into the cabins, and Jeremiah had remained there many days;
