And the LORD has sent unto you all his slaves the prophets, rising early and sending them; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear,
The burden of Dumah. He calls to me out of Seir, Watchman, what of this night? Watchman, what of this night?
His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant; they are all dumb dogs; they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, they love to slumber.
Son of man, I have placed thee as a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth and give them warning from me.
Son of man, speak to the sons of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring a sword upon the land and the people of the land take a man from within their borders and set him up as a watchman;
I will stand upon my watch and affirm my foot upon the fortress and will watch to see what he will say in me and what I shall answer to my question.
For I have not refrained from declaring unto you the full counsel of God.
Listen to your pastors, and do not resist them, for they watch for your souls as those that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief; for that is unprofitable for you.
Cry aloud, do not hold back; lift up thy voice like a shofar and preach to my people their rebellion and to the house of Jacob their sin.
Set the shofar to thy mouth. He shall come as an eagle against the house of the LORD because they have transgressed my covenant and rebelled against my law.
Shall the shofar be blown in the city and the people not be afraid? Shall there be any evil in the city which the LORD has not done?
But they refused to hearken and pulled away the shoulder and stopped their ears that they should not hear.
