An Invasion From The North

²⁰ Why does frankincense come to Me from Sheba, and the sweet cane from a far country? Your burnt offerings are not pleasing, nor your sacrifices sweet to Me. ²¹ Therefore so says Jehovah, Behold, I will lay stumbling-blocks before this people, and the fathers and the sons together shall fall on them; the neighbor and his friend shall perish. ²² So says Jehovah, Behold, a people comes from the north country, and a great nation shall be stirred from the sides of the earth.

Isaiah 8:14

And He shall be a sanctuary for you, but for a stone of stumbling, and for a rock of falling to both the houses of Israel, for a trap and for a snare to the people of Jerusalem.

Isaiah 9:14-17

And Jehovah will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day.

Jeremiah 18:21

Jeremiah 19:7-9

And I will give their dead bodies to be food for the birds of the heavens, and for the animals of the earth.

And afterward, says Jehovah, I will deliver Zedekiah king of Judah, and his servants, and the people, and those who are left in this city from the plague, from the sword, and from the famine, into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those who seek their life. And he shall strike them with the edge of the sword; he shall not spare them, nor have pity, nor have mercy.

Lamentations 2:20-22

Behold, O Jehovah, and consider to whom You have done this. Shall the women eat their fruit, children of tender care? Shall the priest and the prophet be killed in the holy place of the Lord?
