Job's Fourth Speech Continues

¹⁰ Surely He would rebuke you
if you secretly showed partiality.
¹¹ Would God’s majesty not terrify you?
Would His dread not fall on you?
¹² Your memorable sayings are proverbs of ash;
your defenses are made of clay.

Job 31:23

For disaster from God terrifies me,
and because of His majesty I could not do these things.

Exodus 15:16

and terror and dread will fall on them.
They will be as still as a stone
because of Your powerful arm
until Your people pass by, Lord,
until the people whom You purchased pass by.

remove Your hand from me,
and do not let Your terror frighten me.

and the nations cannot endure His rage.

Don’t fear those who kill the body but are not able to kill the soul; rather, fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
