1 Kings 18:21
Elijah came near to all the people and said, “
How long will you hesitate between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.” But the people did not answer him a word.
and said to Him, “Are You
the Expected One, or shall we look for someone else?”
Now while the people were in a state of expectation and all were
wondering in their hearts about John, as to whether he was the Christ,
the testimony of John, when the Jews sent to him priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?”
So they were saying to Him, “Who are You?” Jesus said to them,
“ What have I been saying to you from the beginning?
His parents said this because they
were afraid of the Jews; for the Jews had already agreed that if anyone confessed Him to be Christ, he was to be put out of the synagogue.
If You are the Christ, tell us.” But He said to them, “If I tell you, you will not believe;
