Treasury of Scripture Knowledge

Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.

So the sisters sent this message to Jesus: "Master, your friend is sick."

Just at that time it happened that she had been taken ill and had died, and they had washed her body and laid her out in a room upstairs.

Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.

They gave a dinner for him there, and Martha waited on them, while Lazarus was at the table with him.

And a beggar named Lazarus was put down at his gate covered with sores

Six days before the Passover Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus, whom he had raised from the dead, was living.

And he left them, and went out of the city to Bethany, and spent the night there.

When they were getting near Jerusalem, and had come to Bethphage and Bethany near the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two of his disciples on ahead,

As they continued their journey, he came to a certain village, and a woman named Martha welcomed him to her house.
