So the sisters sent word to Him, saying, “
Lord, behold, he whom You love is sick.”
Now it came about after these things that
Joseph was told, “Behold, your father is sick.” So he took his two sons Manasseh and Ephraim with him.
2 Kings 20:1
In those days Hezekiah became mortally ill. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came to him and said to him, “Thus says the Lord, ‘ Set your house in order, for you shall die and not live.’”
And it happened
at that time that she fell sick and died; and when they had washed her body, they laid it in an upper room.
Now Jesus loved
Martha and her sister and Lazarus.
So they made Him a supper there, and
Martha was serving; but Lazarus was one of those reclining at the table with Him.
And a poor man named Lazarus was laid at his gate, covered with sores,
Jesus, therefore, six days before the Passover, came to Bethany where Lazarus was, whom Jesus had raised from the dead.
And He left them and went out of the city to
Bethany, and spent the night there.
As they *approached Jerusalem, at Bethphage and Bethany, near the Mount of Olives, He *sent two of His disciples,
Now as they were traveling along, He entered a village; and a woman named
Martha welcomed Him into her home.
