And he abode there two days. And many more believed,

Then answered the Jews and said to him, What sign shewest thou us, seeing thou dost these things?

But tho' he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him;

but now have they seen them, and yet hated both me and my Father.

Jesus saith to him, Because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: happy are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

Then the Parisees and Saducees came and tempting, desired him to shew them a sign from heaven.

If he be the king of Israel,

And he said to them, I beheld Satan falling as lightning from heaven.

And he said to him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded tho' one rose from the dead.

Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man pointed out to you of God, by miracles, and wonders, and signs, which God wrought by him in the midst of you, as yourselves also know:

For whereas the Jews demand signs, and the Greeks seek wisdom, We preach Christ crucified,
