3 For thou cast me into the depth, in the heart of the seas, and the flood was round about me. All thy waves and thy billows passed over me.

3 For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me.

3 “For You had (D)cast me into the deep,Into the heart of the seas,And the current (c)engulfed me.All Your (E)breakers and billows passed over me.

3 You threw me into the depths,(E)into the heart of the seas,(F)and the current(b) overcame me.All Your breakers and Your billows swept over me.(G)

3 You cast me into the deep into the heart of the sea. Flood waters engulfed me. All your breakers and your waves swirled over me.

4 And I said, I am cast out from before thine eyes. Yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.

4 Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.

4 “So I said, ‘I have been (F)expelled from (d)Your sight.Nevertheless I will look again (G)toward Your holy temple.’

4 But I said: I have been banished(H)from Your sight,(I)yet I will look once more(c)toward Your holy temple.(J)

4 So I told myself, "I have been driven away from you. How will I again gaze on your holy Temple?'

5 The waters encompassed me around, even to the soul. The deep was round about me. The weeds were wrapped around my head.

5 The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head.

5 (H)Water encompassed me to the (e)point of death. The great (I)deep (f)engulfed me,Weeds were wrapped around my head.

5 The waters engulfed me up to the neck;(d)(K)the watery depths overcame me;seaweed was wrapped around my head.(L)

5 Flood waters encompassed me, the deep surrounded me while seaweed wrapped around my head.

6 I went down to the bottoms of the mountains. The earth with its bars [closed] upon me forever. Yet thou have brought up my life from the pit, O LORD my God.

6 I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God.

6 “I (J)descended to the roots of the mountains. The earth with its (K)bars was around me forever,But You have (L)brought up my life from (g)the pit, O Lord my God.

6 I sank to the foundations of the mountains;(M)the earth with its prison bars closed behind me forever!(N)But You raised my life(O) from the Pit, Lord my God!(P)

6 I sank to the roots of the mountains; the earth's prison bars closed around me forever. Yet you resurrect the dead from the Pit, LORD my God!

7 When my soul fainted within me, I remembered LORD. And my prayer came in to thee, into thy holy temple.

7 When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple.
