and will not God avenge his elect, who cry to him day and night, though he delay long in respect to them?

and they cried with a loud voice, saying: How long, Sovereign, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

So the sun

that you may be the sons of your Father who is in heaven; for he makes his sun to rise upon the evil and the good, and causes it to rain on the just and on the unjust.

Immediately after the affliction of those days, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the hosts of the heavens shall be shaken.

The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and terrible day of the Lord comes.
