And Joshua set up twelve stones in the midst of Jordan, in the place where the feet of the priests which bare the ark of the covenant stood: and they are there unto this day.
And they are there
Set up twelve
Now the Lord said to Moses, “Come up to Me on the mountain and
remain there, and I will give you the stone tablets with the law and the commandment which I have written for their instruction.”
The stones shall be according to the names of the sons of Israel: twelve, according to their names; they shall be like the engravings of a seal, each
according to his name for the twelve tribes.
1 Kings 18:31

which is its name to this day.
