While the sons of Israel camped at Gilgal
they observed the Passover on the evening of the fourteenth day of the month on the desert plains of Jericho.
So Joshua and all Israel with him returned to the camp at Gilgal.
They said to him, “Your servants have come from
a very far country because of the fame of the Lord your God; for we have heard the report of Him and all that He did in Egypt,
agrees to make peace with you and opens to you, then all the people who are found in it shall become your forced labor and shall serve you.
