Israel's Rebellion And Repentance

66 Then the sons of Israel again did evil in the sight of the LORD, served the Baals and the Ashtaroth, the gods of Aram, the gods of Sidon, the gods of Moab, the gods of the sons of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines; thus they forsook the LORD and did not serve Him.

66 And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD, and served Baalim, and Ashtaroth, and the gods of Syria, and the gods of Zidon, and the gods of Moab, and the gods of the children of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines, and forsook the LORD, and served not him.

66 Then the Israelites again did what was evil in the sight of the Lord. They worshiped the Baals and the Ashtoreths, the gods of Aram, Sidon, and Moab, and the gods of the Ammonites and the Philistines. They abandoned the Lord and did not worship Him.

66 Later on, the Israelis again practiced what the LORD considered to be evil by serving the Baals, the stars, the gods of Aram, the gods of Sidon, the gods of Moab, the gods of the descendants of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines. In doing so, they ignored the LORD and wouldn't serve him.

66 And the Israelites again did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, served the Baals, the Ashtaroth [female deities], the gods of Syria, the gods of Sidon, the gods of Moab, the gods of the Ammonites, and the gods of the Philistines. They forsook the Lord and did not serve Him.

77 The anger of the LORD burned against Israel, and He sold them into the hands of the Philistines and into the hands of the sons of Ammon.

77 And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he sold them into the hands of the Philistines, and into the hands of the children of Ammon.

77 So the Lord's anger burned against Israel, and He sold them to the Philistines and the Ammonites.

77 In his burning anger against Israel, he sold them into domination by the Philistines and the Ammonites,

77 And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and He sold them into the hands of the Philistines and the Ammonites,

88 They afflicted and crushed the sons of Israel that year; for eighteen years they afflicted all the sons of Israel who were beyond the Jordan in Gilead in the land of the Amorites.

88 And that year they vexed and oppressed the children of Israel: eighteen years, all the children of Israel that were on the other side Jordan in the land of the Amorites, which is in Gilead.

88 They shattered and crushed the Israelites that year, and for 18 years [they did the same to] all the Israelites who were on the other side of the Jordan in the land of the Amorites in Gilead.

88 who trampled and troubled the Israelis during that year eighteen years for the Israelis who lived east of the Jordan River in Gilead, the land occupied by the Amorites.

88 And they oppressed and crushed and broke the Israelites that year. For eighteen years they oppressed all the Israelites beyond the Jordan in the land of the Amorites, which is in Gilead.

99 The sons of Ammon crossed the Jordan to fight also against Judah, Benjamin, and the house of Ephraim, so that Israel was greatly distressed.

99 Moreover the children of Ammon passed over Jordan to fight also against Judah, and against Benjamin, and against the house of Ephraim; so that Israel was sore distressed.

99 The Ammonites also crossed the Jordan to fight against Judah, Benjamin, and the house of Ephraim. Israel was greatly oppressed,

99 The Ammonites crossed the Jordan River to fight against the tribes of Judah, Benjamin, and the house of Ephraim. As a result, Israel was deeply distressed.

99 And the Ammonites passed over the Jordan to fight against Judah, Benjamin, and the house of Ephraim, so that Israel was sorely distressed.

1010 Then the sons of Israel cried out to the LORD, saying, "We have sinned against You, for indeed, we have forsaken our God and served the Baals."

1010 And the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, saying, We have sinned against thee, both because we have forsaken our God, and also served Baalim.

1010 so they cried out to the Lord, saying, "We have sinned against You. We have abandoned our God and worshiped the Baals."

1010 Then the Israelis cried out to the LORD and told him, "We have sinned against you because we have abandoned our God to serve the Baals."

1010 And the Israelites cried to the Lord, saying, We have sinned against You, because we have forsaken our God and have served the Baals.

1111 The LORD said to the sons of Israel, "Did I not deliver you from the Egyptians, the Amorites, the sons of Ammon, and the Philistines?

1111 And the LORD said unto the children of Israel, Did not I deliver you from the Egyptians, and from the Amorites, from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines?

1111 The Lord said to the Israelites, "When the Egyptians, Amorites, Ammonites, Philistines,

1111 The LORD replied to the Israelis, "Aren't you away from the Egyptians, the Amorites, the Ammonites, and the Philistines?

1111 And the Lord said to the Israelites, Did I not deliver you from the Egyptians, the Amorites, the Ammonites, and the Philistines?

1212 "Also when the Sidonians, the Amalekites and the Maonites oppressed you, you cried out to Me, and I delivered you from their hands.

1212 The Zidonians also, and the Amalekites, and the Maonites, did oppress you; and ye cried to me, and I delivered you out of their hand.

1212 Sidonians, Amalekites, and Maonites oppressed you, and you cried out to Me, did I not deliver you from their power?

1212 And when the Sidonians, the Amalekites, and the Maonites harassed you, you cried out to me, and I delivered you from under their domination.

1212 Also when the Sidonians, the Amalekites, and the Maonites oppressed and crushed you, you cried to Me, and I delivered you out of their hands.

1313 "Yet you have forsaken Me and served other gods; therefore I will no longer deliver you.

1313 Yet ye have forsaken me, and served other gods: wherefore I will deliver you no more.

1313 But you have abandoned Me and worshiped other gods. Therefore, I will not deliver you again.

1313 But you have abandoned me and served other gods. Therefore I will no longer be delivering you.

1313 Yet you have forsaken Me and served other gods; therefore I will deliver you no more.

1414 "Go and cry out to the gods which you have chosen; let them deliver you in the time of your distress."

1414 Go and cry unto the gods which ye have chosen; let them deliver you in the time of your tribulation.

1414 Go and cry out to the gods you have chosen. Let them deliver you in the time of your oppression."

1414 Go and cry out to the gods that you have chosen for yourselves. Let them deliver you in your time of trouble."

1414 Go, cry to the gods you have chosen; let them deliver you in your time of distress.

1515 The sons of Israel said to the LORD, "We have sinned, do to us whatever seems good to You; only please deliver us this day."

1515 And the children of Israel said unto the LORD, We have sinned: do thou unto us whatsoever seemeth good unto thee; deliver us only, we pray thee, this day.

1515 But the Israelites said, "We have sinned. Deal with us as You see fit; only deliver us today!"

1515 The Israelis replied to the LORD, "We have sinned, so do to us anything that's right to do in your opinion, just please deliver us right now."

1515 And the Israelites said to the Lord, We have sinned, do to us whatever seems good to You; only deliver us, we pray You, this day.

1616 So they put away the foreign gods from among them and served the LORD; and He could bear the misery of Israel no longer.

1616 And they put away the strange gods from among them, and served the LORD: and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.

1616 So they got rid of the foreign gods among them and worshiped the Lord, but He became weary of Israel's misery.

1616 When they put away their foreign gods and served the LORD, he brought Israel's misery to an end.

1616 So they put away the foreign gods from among them and served the Lord, and His heart became impatient over the misery of Israel.

1717 Then the sons of Ammon were summoned and they camped in Gilead. And the sons of Israel gathered together and camped in Mizpah.

1717 Then the children of Ammon were gathered together, and encamped in Gilead. And the children of Israel assembled themselves together, and encamped in Mizpeh.

1717 The Ammonites were called together, and they camped in Gilead. So the Israelites assembled and camped at Mizpah.

1717 The Ammonites were summoned and they encamped in Gilead. The Israelis assembled together and encamped in Mizpah.

1717 Then the Ammonites were gathered together and they encamped in Gilead. And the Israelites assembled and encamped at Mizpah.

1818 The people, the leaders of Gilead, said to one another, "Who is the man who will begin to fight against the sons of Ammon? He shall become head over all the inhabitants of Gilead."

1818 And the people and princes of Gilead said one to another, What man is he that will begin to fight against the children of Ammon? he shall be head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.

1818 The rulers of Gilead said to one another, "Which man will lead the fight against the Ammonites? He will be the leader of all the inhabitants of Gilead."

1818 The people and Gilead's officials inquired among themselves, "Who will begin our attack against the Ammonites? He'll become head over everyone who lives in Gilead."

1818 And the leaders of Gilead [the Israelites] said one to another, Who is the man who will begin to fight against the Ammonites? He shall be head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.
