And he said unto him, If now I have found grace in thy sight, then shew me a sign that thou talkest with me.

If you are, tell me your plans, so that I may serve you and continue to please you. Remember also that you have chosen this nation to be your own.

Gideon said to God: You have said you will rescue Israel using me.

Abram replied: O Jehovah God, how will I know that I shall possess it?

Moses responded: What if they will not believe me or listen to what I say? For they may say: 'Jehovah has not appeared to you.'

King Hezekiah said to Isaiah: What is the sign to prove that Jehovah will heal me and that three days later I will be able to go to the Temple?

Grant me some proof of your goodness so that those who hate me may see it and be put to shame. You, O Jehovah, have helped me and comforted me.

Ask Jehovah your God for a sign. Ask it in the deepest depths or in the highest heights.

Isaiah said: This is your sign from Jehovah that he will do what he promises.
