Treasury of Scripture Knowledge
If a soul commit a trespass, and sin through ignorance, in the holy things of the LORD; then he shall bring for his trespass unto the LORD a ram without blemish out of the flocks, with thy estimation by shekels of silver, after the shekel of the sanctuary, for a trespass offering:
‘Now if a person sins after he hears a
public adjuration to testify when he is a witness, whether he has seen or otherwise known, if he does not tell it, then he will bear his guilt.
“Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘If a person sins
unintentionally in any of the things which the Lord has commanded not to be done, and commits any of them,
He shall make restitution for that which he has sinned against the holy thing, and shall add to it a fifth part of it and give it to the priest. The priest shall then make atonement for him with the ram of the guilt offering, and it will be forgiven him.
‘Now this is the law of the
guilt offering; it is most holy.
did you not eat the sin offering at the holy place? For it is most holy, and He gave it to you to bear away the guilt of the congregation, to make atonement for them before the Lord.
Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
Then you shall take fine flour and bake twelve cakes with it; two-tenths of an ephah shall be in each cake.
‘Now if it is an animal of the kind which
men can present as an offering to the Lord, any such that one gives to the Lord shall be holy.
This shall be yours from the most holy gifts reserved from the fire; every offering of theirs, even
every grain offering and every sin offering and every guilt offering, which they shall render to Me, shall be most holy for you and for your sons.
But you shall seek the Lord at the place which the Lord your God will choose from all your tribes, to establish His name there for His dwelling, and there you shall come.
You shall consecrate to the Lord your God all the firstborn males that are born of your herd and of your flock; you shall not work with the firstborn of your herd, nor shear the firstborn of your flock.
“Then it shall be, when you enter the land which the Lord your God gives you as an inheritance, and you possess it and live in it,
He is then to bring to the priest
a ram without defect from the flock, according to your valuation, for a guilt offering. So the priest shall make atonement for him concerning his error in which he sinned unintentionally and did not know it, and it will be forgiven him.
Then he shall bring to the priest his guilt offering to the Lord,
a ram without defect from the flock, according to your valuation, for a guilt offering,
pledged to put away their wives, and being guilty, they offered a ram of the flock for their offense.
You shall keep My sabbaths and reverence My sanctuary; I am the Lord.
But if a man eats a holy gift unintentionally, then he shall add to it a fifth of it and shall give the holy gift to the priest.
