He said to them, "You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God.

What then? Are we Jews any better off? Certainly not; for we have already charged that all men, both Jews and Greeks, are under the power of sin.

as to zeal, a persecutor of the church; as to righteousness under the law, blameless.

For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by men and hating one another.

Walking

And Paul, looking intently at the council, said, "Brethren, I have lived my life before God in all good conscience up to this day."

And so I do my best always to have a clear conscience before God and men.

I praise you because you remember me in everything and hold firmly to the traditions, just as I delivered them to you.

For our boast is this: the testimony of our conscience, that with holiness and godly sincerity, not in worldly wisdom but in the grace of God, we have conducted ourselves in the world, and still more toward you.

For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,

Now by this we know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

Little children, let no one deceive you. He who does right is righteous, just as he is righteous.
