Luke 20:41

But he said to them, "How can people say that the Christ is David's son?

The birth-roll of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

And as Jesus taught in the temple he asked, "How can the scribes say that the Christ is David's son?

As the Pharisees had mustered, Jesus put a question to them.

So he shouted, "Jesus, Son of David, have pity on me!"

Does not scripture say it is from the offspring of David, from David's village of Bethlehem, that the Christ is to come?"

(He was a prophet; he knew God had sworn an oath to him that he would seat one of his descendants on his throne;

concerning his Son, who was born of David's offspring by natural descent

"I Jesus have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches; I am the Scion and offspring of David, the bright star of the morning.
