Luke 22:67

and said to him, if you are the Christ, say so. but he answer'd, if I should tell you so, you will not believe it.

art thou he that was to come, or must we expect another?

but Jesus made no reply. and the high priest said to him, I conjure thee by the living God, to tell us, are you the Christ the son of God?

but Jesus remain'd silent, and gave no answer. then the high priest asked him again, and said to him, art thou the Christ, the son of the most High?

Abraham replied, if they disregard Moses and the prophets, they will not believe any one, though he rose from the dead.

You search the scriptures, for you think by their means to have eternal life, and they are the very writings which do testify of me.

why do not you understand my language? unless because ye cannot bear my doctrine?

I have already told you that, said he, and did you not hear it? why would ye hear it over again? have you likewise a mind to be his disciples?

the Jews came about him, and said, how long will you keep us in suspense? if you are the Messiah, tell us plainly.

But though he had done so many miracles in their presence, yet they did not believe on him:
