And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages.
when Jesus entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, imploring Him,
When the angel who was speaking to him had left, he summoned two of his
servants and a devout soldier of those who were his personal attendants,
Do violence to no man
For this, “
You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this saying, “ You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
so that you will
prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world,
Zaccheus stopped and said to
the Lord, “Behold, Lord, half of my possessions I will give to the poor, and if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I will give back four times as much.”
You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
You shall not bear a false report; do not join your hand with a wicked man to be a malicious witness.
You shall not steal, nor deal falsely, nor lie to one another.
Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior,
not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good,
Then I heard
a loud voice in heaven, saying,“Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, he who accuses them before our God day and night.
Not that I speak
from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am.
1 Timothy 6:8
have food and covering, with these we shall be content.
Make sure that your character is
free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, “ I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,”
