Then the Lord said to Moses, “
Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a standard; and it shall come about, that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, he will live.”
2 Kings 13:21
As they were burying a man, behold, they saw a marauding band; and they cast the man into the grave of Elisha. And when the man
touched the bones of Elisha he revived and stood up on his feet.
And a woman who had been suffering from a hemorrhage for twelve years, came up behind Him and touched
the fringe of His cloak;
and they implored Him that they might just touch
the fringe of His cloak; and as many as touched it were cured.
for He had
healed many, with the result that all those who had afflictions pressed around Him in order to touch Him.
Wherever He entered villages, or cities, or countryside, they were laying the sick in the market places, and imploring Him that they might just
touch the fringe of His cloak; and as many as touched it were being cured.
And they *came to
Bethsaida. And they *brought a blind man to Jesus and *implored Him to touch him.
As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up;
to such an extent that they even carried the sick out into the streets and laid them on cots and pallets, so that when Peter came by
at least his shadow might fall on any one of them.
so that handkerchiefs or aprons were even carried from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out.
