Treasury of Scripture Knowledge

Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.

And they divided up his clothes among them by drawing lots for them,

Then falling on his knees, he cried out, "Lord, do not lay this sin up against them!" With these words he fell asleep.

Bless your persecutors; bless them; do not curse them.

we have worked with our hands for a living. When people abuse us, we bless them, when they persecute us, we put up with it,

Blessing and cursing issue from the same mouth! This is not right, my brothers.

not returning evil for evil, or abuse for abuse. You must bless people instead. It is for this that you were called??o obtain blessing.

And when there was a movement on the part of both the heathen and the Jews with the authorities to insult and stone them,

But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for your persecutors,

Bless your persecutors; bless them; do not curse them.
