Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

"Whenever any one hears the message of the kingdom, and does not understand it, the Evil One comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart.

"What the Sower sows is the Word. There are those 'on the wayside' where the Word is sown.

I planted, Apollos watered, but God made the seed grow.

So strip off all filthiness and superfluity of wickedness, and in meekness receive the implanted Word, which is able to save your souls.

For you have been born anew, not of perishable, but of imperishable seed, by the living, lasting word of God.
