And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils.
The Pharisees and some of the scribes gathered around Him when they had come from Jerusalem,
Then some Pharisees and scribes *came to Jesus from Jerusalem and said,
One day He was teaching; and there were some Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting there, who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem; and the power of the Lord was present for Him to perform healing.
But I am a worm and not a man,
reproach of men and despised by the people.
But the Pharisees were saying, “He
casts out the demons by the ruler of the demons.”
It is enough for the disciple that he become like his teacher, and the slave like his master. If they have called the head of the house Beelzebul, how much more will they malign the members of his household!
But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, “This man
casts out demons only by Beelzebul the ruler of the demons.”
But some of them said, “He casts out demons
by Beelzebul, the ruler of the demons.”
The crowd answered, “
You have a demon! Who seeks to kill You?”
The Jews answered and said to Him, “Do we not say rightly that You are a Samaritan and have a demon?”
At that time the Feast of the Dedication took place at Jerusalem;
