17 This was to fulfill what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet:
18
(A)Behold, My (a)Servant whom I (b)have chosen;
(B)My Beloved in whom My soul (c)is well-pleased;
(C)I will put My Spirit upon Him,
(D)And He shall proclaim (d)justice to the (e)Gentiles.
19
(E)He will not quarrel, nor cry out;
Nor will anyone hear His voice in the streets.
20
(F)A battered reed He will not break off,
And a smoldering wick He will not put out,
Until He (f)leads (g)justice to victory.
21
(G)And in His name the (h)Gentiles will hope.”
