Matthew 16:14

they replied, some think you are John the Baptist, some Elias, and others Jeremias, or one of the prophets.

and said to his servants, this is John the baptist, he is risen from the dead, and consequently is invested with miraculous power.

others said, 'tis Elias. others, 'tis a prophet, or one equal to a prophet.

art thou then Elias? said they; and he answer'd, I am not. art thou a prophet? and he answer'd, no.

why then do the Scribes say, that Elias must first come?

they answered, some say you are John the Baptist; others, Elias; and others, one of the prophets.

and others, that one of the old prophets was come to life again.

One day having retired alone to prayer, he came to his disciples, and ask'd them, saying, whom do the people judge me to be?

and the people were much divided about him: for some said, he is a good man: others said, not at all; but he seduces the people.

many of the people therefore, who heard this discourse, said, this man is certainly a prophet.

they therefore question'd the blind man again, what do you say of the man that made you see? he is a prophet, said he.
