1 At that hour the disciples came to Jesus, and said: Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?
1 (A)At that (a)time the disciples came to Jesus and said, “(B)Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”
1 At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?
1 At that time(a)(A) the disciples(B) came to Jesus and said, “Who is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”(C)
1 At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, "Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom from heaven?"
3 and said: Verily I say to you, Unless you turn and become as little children, you can not enter the kingdom of heaven.
3 and said, “Truly I say to you, unless you (c)are converted and (C)become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.
3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
3 “I assure you,” He said, “unless you are converted(b) and become like children,(D) you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.(E)
3 Then he said, "I tell all of you with certainty, unless you change and become like little children, you will never get into the kingdom from heaven.
4 Whoever, therefore, humbles himself as this little child, is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
4 Whoever then humbles himself as this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
4 Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child—this one is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

6 but whoever ensnares one of these little ones that believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hung about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
6 but (D)whoever (E)causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it (d)would be better for him to have a (e)heavy millstone hung around his neck, and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.
6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
6 “But whoever causes the downfall of one of these little ones who believe in Me—it would be better for him if a heavy millstone(d) were hung around his neck and he were drowned in the depths of the sea!(F)
6 "If anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him if a large millstone were hung around his neck and he were drowned at the bottom of the sea.
7 Alas for the world because of snares! for it is necessary that snares come: but alas for that man by whom the snare comes!
7 “Woe to the world because of its stumbling blocks! For (F)it is inevitable that stumbling blocks come; but woe to that man through whom the stumbling block comes!
7 Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!
7 Woe to the world because of offenses. For offenses must come, but woe to that man by whom the offense comes.(G)
7 How terrible it will be for the world due to its temptations to sin! Temptations to sin are bound to happen, but how terrible it will be for that person who causes someone to sin!
8 If, then, your hand or your foot ensnares you, cut it off, and throw it from you. It is better for you to enter into life lame or maimed, than, having two hands or two feet, to be thrown into the eternal fire.
8 “(G)If your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it from you; it is better for you to enter life crippled or lame, than (f)to have two hands or two feet and be cast into the eternal fire.
8 Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.
8 If your hand or your foot causes your downfall, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or lame, than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into the eternal fire.(H)
8 "So if your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life injured or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire.
9 And if your eye ensnares you, pull it out, and throw it from you. It is better to enter into life with one eye, than, having two eyes, to be thrown into hell-fire.
9 (H)If your eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it from you. It is better for you to enter life with one eye, than (g)to have two eyes and be cast into the (h)(I)fiery hell.
9 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.
9 And if your eye causes your downfall, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye, rather than to have two eyes and be thrown into hellfire!(e)(I)
9 And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell fire.
10 Take heed that you despise not one of these little ones: for I say to you, That their angels in heaven do always behold the face of my Father who is in heaven.
10 “See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that (J)their angels in heaven continually see the face of My Father who is in heaven.
10 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.
10 “See that you don’t look down on one of these little ones,(J) because I tell you that in heaven their angels(K) continually view the face of My Father in heaven.(L)
10 "See to it that you do not despise one of these little ones, because I tell you, their angels in heaven always have access to my Father in heaven.
12 What think you? If a man have a hundred sheep, and one of them go astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine, and go into the mountains, and seek for that which has gone astray?
12 “What do you think? (L)If any man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go and search for the one that is straying?
12 How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?
12 What do you think?(N) If a man has 100 sheep, and one of them goes astray, won’t he leave the 99 on the hillside and go and search for the stray?(O)
12 "What do you think? If a man has 100 sheep and one of them strays, he leaves the 99 in the hills and goes to look for the one that has strayed, doesn't he?
13 And if it so be that he find it, verily I say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray.
13 If it turns out that he finds it, truly I say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine which have not gone astray.
13 And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.
13 And if he finds it, I assure you: He rejoices over that sheep(g) more than over the 99 that did not go astray.
13 If he finds it, I tell all of you with certainty that he rejoices over it more than over the 99 that haven't strayed.
14 Even so, it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven, that one of these little ones should be lost.

15 And if your brother sin against you, go and tell him of his fault between you and him alone; if he hear you, you have gained your brother.
15 “(M)If your brother sins(k), go and (l)show him his fault (m)in private; if he listens to you, you have won your brother.
15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
15 “If your brother sins against you,(h) go and rebuke him in private.(i) If he listens to you, you have won your brother.(P)
15 "If your brother sins against you, go and confront him while the two of you are alone. If he listens to you, you have won back your brother.
16 But if he will not hear you, take with you one or two more, that, by the mouth of two or three witnesses, every word may be established.

17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.

17 If, however, he ignores them, tell it to the congregation. If he also ignores the congregation, regard him as an unbeliever and a tax collector.
18 Verily, I say to you, my disciples, Whatever you bind on earth, shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth, shall be loosed in heaven.
18 Truly I say to you, (Q)whatever you (q)bind on earth (r)shall have been bound in heaven; and whatever you (s)loose on earth (t)shall have been loosed in heaven.
18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
18 I assure you: Whatever you bind on earth is already bound(n) in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth is already loosed(o) in heaven.(T)
18 "I tell all of you with certainty, whatever you prohibit on earth will have been prohibited in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will have been permitted in heaven.
19 Again, I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about any thing for which they will ask, it shall be done for them by my Father who is in heaven.
19 “Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, (R)it shall be done for them (u)by My Father who is in heaven.
19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
19 Again, I assure you: If two of you on earth agree about any matter that you(p) pray for, it will be done for you(q) by My Father in heaven.
19 Furthermore, I tell all of you with certainty that if two of you agree on earth about anything you request, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven,
20 For where there are two or three that have come together for my sake, there I am in the midst of them.
20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
20 For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there among them.”
20 because where two or three have come together in my name, I am there among them."
21 Then Peter came to him, and said: Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Till seven times?
21 Then Peter came and said to Him, “Lord, (T)how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Up to (U)seven times?”
21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?
21 Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how many times could my brother sin against me and I forgive him? As many as seven times?”(U)
21 Then Peter came up and asked him, "Lord, how many times may my brother sin against me and I have to forgive him? Seven times?"
23 For this reason, the kingdom of heaven is likened to a king that wished to settle accounts with his servants.
23 “For this reason (W)the kingdom of heaven (v)may be compared to a king who wished to (X)settle accounts with his slaves.
23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.
23 For this reason, the kingdom of heaven can be compared to a king who wanted to settle accounts with his slaves.
23 "That is why the kingdom from heaven may be compared to a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants.
24 And when he began to make a settlement, there was brought to him one that owed him ten thou sand talents.
24 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.
24 When he had begun to settle the accounts, a person who owed him 10,000 talents was brought to him.
25 But as he was not able to pay, his lord commanded him, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, to be sold, and payment to be made.
25 But since he (x)(Y)did not have the means to repay, his lord commanded him (Z)to be sold, along with his wife and children and all that he had, and repayment to be made.
25 But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.
25 Since he had no way to pay it back, his master commanded that he, his wife, his children, and everything he had be sold to pay the debt.(V)
25 Because he couldn't pay, his master ordered him, his wife, his children, and everything that he owned to be sold so that payment could be made.
26 Therefore, the servant fell down and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, Lord, and I will pay you all.
26 So the slave fell to the ground and (AA)prostrated himself before him, saying, ‘Have patience with me and I will repay you everything.’
26 The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
26 “At this, the slave fell facedown before him and said, ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay you everything!’
26 Then the servant fell down and bowed low before him, saying, "Be patient with me, and I will repay you everything!'
27 And the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and let him go, and for gave him the debt.
27 Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.
27 Then the master of that slave had compassion, released him, and forgave him the loan.
27 The master of that servant had compassion and released him, canceling his debt.
28 But that servant went out, and found one of his fellow servants, who owed him a hundred denarii; and he laid hold of him, and took him by the throat, saying: Pay me what you owe.
28 But that slave went out and found one of his fellow slaves who owed him a hundred (z)denarii; and he seized him and began to choke him, saying, ‘Pay back what you owe.’
28 But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.
28 “But that slave went out and found one of his fellow slaves who owed him 100 denarii.(t)(W) He grabbed him, started choking him, and said, ‘Pay what you owe!’
28 "But when that servant went away, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii. He grabbed him, seized him by the throat, and said, "Pay what you owe!'
29 Then his fellow-servant fell down at his feet, and be sought him, saying: Have patience with me, and I will pay you all.
29 So his fellow slave fell to the ground and began to plead with him, saying, ‘Have patience with me and I will repay you.’
29 And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

30 And he would not; but went and threw him into prison, till he should pay the debt.

32 Then his lord called him and said to him: Wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt, because you besought me.
32 Then summoning him, his lord *said to him, ‘You wicked slave, I forgave you all that debt because you pleaded with me.
32 Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:
32 “Then, after he had summoned him, his master said to him, ‘You wicked slave! I forgave you all that debt because you begged me.
32 Then his master sent for him and told him, "You evil servant! I canceled that entire debt for you because you begged me.
33 Ought you not to have had mercy on your fellow-servant, even as I had mercy on you?
33 (AC)Should you not also have had mercy on your fellow slave, in the same way that I had mercy on you?’
33 Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?
33 Shouldn't you have had mercy on your fellow servant, just as I had mercy on you?'
34 And his lord was angry, and delivered him to the jailers, till he should pay all that was due him.
34 And his lord, moved with anger, handed him over to the torturers until he should repay all that was owed him.
34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.
34 And his master got angry and handed him over to the jailers to be tortured until he could pay everything that was owed.
34 In anger his master handed him over to the jailers until he could repay the entire debt.
35 So also will my heavenly Father do to you, if, from your hearts, you forgive not every one his brother's offenses.
35 (AD)My heavenly Father will also do the same to you, if each of you does not forgive his brother from (ab)your heart.”
35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.
35 So My heavenly Father will also do to you if each of you does not forgive his brother(v) from his(w) heart.”(Y)
35 This is how my heavenly Father will treat each one of you unless you forgive your brother from your hearts."
